    • 1). Raise the hood and disconnect the negative battery cable using a socket wrench. Raise the front end of the vehicle using a floor jack and place the vehicle on two jack stands.

    • 2). Slide under the front end of the vehicle on your back to access the drain plug. The plug is located on the bottom of the radiator near the center. Place a bucket directly under the plug to catch the antifreeze (coolant), and then remove the radiator fill cap by hand.

    • 3). Loosen the drain plug to release the coolant using a socket wrench and fill up the bucket. Tighten the plug and transfer the old coolant to an environmentally friendly container. Repeat these steps until the radiator is completely emptied.

    • 4). Remove the large upper and lower radiator hoses using channel lock pliers. Squeeze the clamp and pull it off where it meets the radiator. Detach the hoses by hand (twisting as you pull).

    • 5). Detach the other ends of the hoses; the top hose from the thermostat and the lower hose from the water pump for better clearance if necessary. Disconnect the last hose that leads to the coolant reservoir tank, located on top of the radiator.

    • 6). Disconnect all of the cooling fan electrical connections by hand. The cooling fan and radiator shroud (safety cover) can remain attached to the radiator during its removal.

    • 7). Raise the front end of the vehicle using the floor jack. Remove both jack stands and lower the vehicle to the ground.
