Homemade Picture Albums
- 1). Measure 1/2 inch in from one long edge of each piece of card stock and draw a faint guideline along this measurement with your pencil. Place an X in 3 or 4 places along this line, spacing them evenly, and making sure they are in the same place on each piece of card stock. Using a punch, cut holes in each piece of card stock through these X's. Set aside 2 pieces of stock.
- 2). Measure 3/4 inch in from the same edge. Fold the stock along that line and use the edge of the ruler to create a sharp score along it. This crease allows the pages to be opened easily.

Cut different sizes and shapes from the colored paper or wrapping paper, tear pieces of old newspaper into shapes, or cut up greeting cards with pretty images on the front. - 4). Place different sizes and shapes of the cut-up paper on 1 sheet of card stock until it is covered and you are happy with the design, but leaving the area from the score to the edge blank. Glue each piece of paper onto the card stock, making sure the edges lay flat. Set aside to dry. Continue this process until all of the card stock has been covered in paper on both sides. Allow each side to dry before doing the back.
- 5). Arrange photos on the completed cards, using the photo corners to hold them in place.
- 6). Stack each card on top of the other, taking into account the order in which the photos will appear when the album is bound.
- 7). Pick up the 2 pieces of card stock you set aside earlier. Place one piece on top of the stack of photo pages and one piece under it. Cut a piece of ribbon or yarn and weave it through the holes, making sure to leave a long tail on each end. Flip the book over. Take each end of the ribbon or yarn and bring them together in the center. Tie together in a knot or bow and trim the ends. Place a photo or wording on the top cover to identify your album.
