Introduction

We all have that favorite piece of jewelry we’ve made that we wear again and again. Mine happens to be a pink pearl tin cup necklace I like to call "Pretty in Pink." It’s dainty and delicate, and it seems to go with just about any outfit. I also get a lot of compliments on it when I wear it, so I thought it was time to share it with you.

Materials

You’ll need:

7 3-4mm pink button pearls
*1 Light pink no. 2 carded beading thread
Corsage pin
2 Bead tips
1 Jump ring
1 Spring ring clasp
Chain-nosed pliers
Round-nosed pliers
Scissors

*This thread comes in all kinds of colors including pinkish beige and pink. The first matches the pale pink of the pearls much better while the latter is more of a bubble gum pink.

Attach Bead Tip

1. Start by pulling the beading cord off the card and tie a few over hand knots on top of one another on the end of the cord.
2. Trim off excess cord close to the knot.

3. Slip the needle through a clamp shell so the knot rests inside.

Close Bead Tip

4. Use chain-nosed pliers to close the bead tip over the knot.

Knot Cord

5. Now measure 4 inches down the cord.
6. Tie an over hand knot.

7. Slip on your first pearl, pushing it up against the knot.

More Knots

8. Tie another over hand knot on the other side of the pearl and use a pin to push the knot up against the pearl.

9. Measure 1 inch down the cord.
10. Repeat steps 6 to 8.

11. Continue this process measuring so there is 1 inch between each pearl until you have added all seven pearls.
12. After the seventh pearl, slip on the other bead tip so the shell is facing away from the pearl.

13. Measure 4 inches from the pearl, and tie a few over hand knots on top of each other.

14. Trim off excess cord, and push the bead tip over the knot.

15. Use pliers again to close the bead tip over the knot.

16. Finally, use round nose pliers to curl the end of the clam shell around a jump ring on one end and a spring ring clasp on the other.
